Background/History of Project:
Promoting community involvement and fundraising, the Hometown Heroes Honor Field has become an annual project to coincide with the community 4th of July events.
Project Overview:
As part of the Hometown Heroes July 4th celebration the Chatham Rotary Club presents the Honor Field. Located beside the Old Dominion Agricultural Center (ODAC) the display features an array of approximately 350 American flags. The field of flags are a beautiful tribute to our nation, along with honoring our own Hometown Heroes. Flag dedications for special heroes and groups can be purchased for a minimal donation. The public is encouraged to stop by.
Impact Statement:
The Honor. Field is located beside a traveled highway (U.S. 29) and inspires tourists traveling by, as well as the local community during the month revolving around the 4th of July.
