Chatham Rotary Club Membership Information

Rotary is an international organization that is committed to bringing hope to the world through action. Rotary is a global network of business and professional leaders that includes 1.2 million Rotarians, 35,000 clubs, in 200 countries. Rotary has global reach and recognition and is the largest, most financially sound membership organization in the world. Rotary International, in partnership with the Rotary Foundation, advances literacy, economic and community development, providing clean water, maternal and child health, the eradication of disease, and peacebuilding and conflict prevention. Rotarians are people of action who strengthen community and international connections with friends and neighbors and improve lives.

The heart of Rotary is the local club and the dedicated members who are empowered by Rotary’s motto of "Service Above Self" and its vision where, “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”

Since 1939 the Rotary Club of Chatham has furthered Rotary's humanitarian and service mission to foster goodwill, fellowship, and friendship. We take action by collaborating with community partners and local businesses to positively impact our local community and work hard to stamp out hunger, beautify public areas, and support youth service programs and organizations.

How can I become a Member?

The Rotary Club of Chatham invites you to fill out the online New Member Application, which will be reviewed by the Membership Committee. Upon review, you will be contacted by our Membership Committee Chair, who will invite you as an honored guest to attend a regular lunch Club meeting.  As our guest, you will be introduced to Club members, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and listen to club business. Your application will be reviewed by our Board of Directors for approval. Once your application is approved, we will set a date for your induction as a New Member.

What to expect

Rotary brings hope through action and we encourage all members to actively participate in Club meetings, service projects, fundraisers, and social events. We also encourage our members to consider positions on our various committees or to lead a service project.  A consequence of becoming an active member is you will meet and develop lifelong friends within the community.  We take the social aspect of membership very seriously.

As a new member you will receive The New Member Rotary Packet that includes:

• A Member Certificate
• The Four-Way Test Card
• Two (2) Rotary Pins
• A Rotary Sticker
• Club Tee Shirt
• Discount Coupon to the Rotary Store

The Cost of Membership

Membership Dues:  Annual Membership dues—$300/year.
(Rotary International, District dues, and Club meeting costs).

Lunch (optional):  We serve buffet lunches at the noon meetings (6 meals per quarter), the cost is $72 quarterly ($288 annually).

Donations (optional): Members are encouraged to be a Rotary International Sustainer ($100 annually) and to support the District PolioPlus Challenge ($40 annually).  In addition, other Club initiatives include:  CRC Scholarships, The Chatham Rotary Foundation, CARTS, the Wheelchair Initiative, and more!
