Dedication Ceremony for our Hometown Heroes
Saturday, July 1, 2023  10 A.M.

As part of the community July 4th celebration for 2023, the Chatham Rotary Club presents Hometown Heroes Field of Honor. A dedication of this Field will be held onsite at 10 A.M. July 1.  The Field is located beside U.S. HIGHWAY 29 immediately south of the Old Dominion Agricultural Center (ODAC) and features an array of approximately 300 American flags. The field is scheduled to be in place by June 24th and remain standing until July 15th.

The field provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate the holiday by recognizing an individual or group that has been of service to the nation, state, local community or to you personally. You may recognize your own personal Hometown Hero by sponsoring a flag for a donation of just $40. Examples may include active service members, veterans, public servants, volunteer organizations like Fire and Rescue, teachers, friends, family, or the like. Donors will be recognized by cards indicating the donor and individual or group recognized. Cards will be attached to each flag sponsored and remain in place for the duration of the field. Proceeds from sponsored flags go to support numerous public service projects supported and executed by the Chatham Rotary Club.

If you want to keep your flag, please make arrangements to pick up at ODAC on July 15, from 10:00 am - 12:00pm. After that, flags will go into storage, and cannot be accessed.
