Our annual stew sale at the Callands Festival helps raise funds for the many causes and projects that we support.
The Callands Festival is a longstanding tradition around "these parts" and the Rotary Stew has become a big part of the tradition. Rotary Volunteers make this happen, and our youth Interact Club usually sends a few volunteers too. The Volunteers start preparing early with all the stew "fixin's". On the day of the stew, they are there at the crack of dawn, mixing, cooking, stirring and then doing it all over again. Every year we cook up several huge pots of stew, and start selling around 11 a.m. And every year, we sell out! We invite everyone to come out for lunch...and then take a quart or two home with you! After all, it's for a worthwhile cause!
