Rotary UK Sets a World Record

Congratulations to the more than 5,000 people in 23 countries who swam at least 100 yards at the same time during a “swimarathon” on 25 February. They raised over US$75,000 for Rotary’s Challenge for polio eradication.

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Grantham, Leicestershire, England, the event drew the support of more than 100 Rotary clubs and set a new Guinness World Record for the most people swimming simultaneously in different countries, breaking the previous mark of 2,500 swimmers.
