Kenyan environmentalist dies

Kenyan environmentalist Wangari Maathai, founder of the Green Belt movement and a speaker at the 2005 RI Convention in Chicago, died Sunday of cancer at the age of 71. Maathai, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, worked with many local Rotary clubs, and her movement has planted an estimated 45 million trees in Africa.
